Consultations

Consultations take approximately 90 minuets per horse, although I will take as long as necessary to find the best bit and bridle combination for your horse.

Cost per consultation is £70 per horse (£65 if seeing more than one horse at the same yard). Due to the high cost of fuel, I charge mileage in addition to the consultation fee, at 45p per mile (each way) after 30 miles. 0-30 miles is free of charge. If there is more than one horse at the same yard or in the same area, I divide the mileage charge accordingly. PLEASE NOTE: Payment must be made before I leave by cash or BACS. If there is no internet at your yard, please pay by cash or in advance by BACS.

As part of the consultation, I will assess the anatomy of your horse's head and mouth along with the tack you are currently using. You will require a suitable area to ride so that we can assess changes we make.

I do not sell any bridles or bits. I will recommend which bit and bridle fit is best for your horse based on his anatomy and how he responds to the different mouthpieces and cheeks we try.

I carry a range of BD legal bits varying in price from £15 to £185. Your horse will let you know which he prefers! Whether you choose to buy it and where you buy from is entirely up to you.

As the anatomy of your horse's mouth can change with age, I recommend a check-up every 6 months for youngsters or every year for older horses.
